The Strains Worth Trying Before December: A Curated Shortlist

If you are going to try a few things this autumn, these are the ones we would put in front of you — grouped by what you already like, with a note on how each one stores.

A lot of people are approaching this autumn with a short list rather than a single order. If that is you, this is our attempt at a useful shortlist rather than a catalogue dump — organised by the profile you already gravitate toward, with a note on storage stability, since a larger buy sits around longer.

Everything here is California indoor, third-party tested, with the COA available for your specific lot.

If you like dessert and gelato profiles

The sweet, creamy, bakery-adjacent family. The most popular category in premium flower for several years running, and the one most people default to.

Lemon Cherry Gelato — the one our customers reorder most. Bright citrus over a sweet cherry base, with the creaminess the gelato line is known for. Dense structure, holds up well in storage. If you are buying one thing and you like sweet profiles, this is it. We wrote about why it has stayed popular earlier this year.

Biscotti — nuttier and more grounded than the gelatos, with a coffee-and-baked-goods character. Tight, resinous structure that stores particularly well. The connoisseur's pick in this group.

Ice Cream Cake — vanilla and sweet dough, softer and rounder than the other two. Consistently the one people describe as their evening jar.

If you like fruit-forward profiles

Brighter and more immediate, generally more approachable if you are newer to selecting by aroma.

Blueberry Muffin — exactly what the name promises, with genuine berry character rather than generic sweetness. The one we most often recommend to people buying premium flower for the first time.

Blueberry Z — sharper and more concentrated than the Muffin, with a zkittlez-adjacent brightness on top of the berry.

Rainbow Runtz — candy-sweet and immediately recognisable. One of our newer Cali Cured drops and one that moves fast.

If you like gas and classic profiles

Fuel, pine, earth. The older lineages, and the ones that tend to age most gracefully in storage.

OG Kush — the reference point for the whole category. Fuel, pine, a little citrus underneath. If the modern dessert strains feel too sweet, this is the correction.

Blue Dream OG — berry over a classic OG backbone. Bridges the two families and is a reliable choice when you cannot decide.

808 Cookies — the cookies lineage with a spicy, peppery edge. Caryophyllene-forward, distinctive, not for everyone — which is rather the appeal.

If you want something less common

Snowman — heavy trichome coverage, sweet-and-sour with a diesel undertone. The most visually striking flower we carry and the one people photograph. We covered why it stands out separately.

Chocolate Cherry Chip — dark, rich, cherry-and-cocoa. The most unusual nose in the range, and the one that most often surprises people who thought they had smelled everything.

Which ones store best

If part of your buy is going to sit for a few months, this matters more than usual.

Denser, more resinous flower holds up better — there is less surface area exposed and a tighter structure protects the trichomes. In our range, Biscotti, Snowman and OG Kush are the standouts for storage stability. The lighter, airier profiles are best used sooner.

Whatever you buy, storage discipline matters more than strain selection for anything sitting past a couple of months. Our long-term storage guide covers the working-jar system, which is the single technique that makes the biggest difference.

A note on buying more than one

Palate fatigue is real. Three or four cultivars across different terpene families is a better experience over several months than a single large jar of the same thing, even if that thing is excellent. Rotating between a dessert, a fruit and a gas profile keeps all three interesting for longer.

If you are working out quantities, our guide on how much to actually buy makes the case for a six-month horizon rather than a panic buy — including the reasons to spend part of the budget on CBD flower instead.
